The work, which I named it “Star”, was based on a very impressionable memory from childhood days back in China. It is a scene in my memory depicting the moments of sitting around with loved-ones in the tranquil summer evenings, where warm tender breezes glazing our faces while we look to the sky at stars brightly sparkling. The growing concerns of pollution have greatly affected the environment and many things of nature we have taken for granted in the past now look rather lifeless. My native place is also not spared of this and the ever-worsening pollution has now even make stargazing an occasional privilege. My art work depicts each star distinctively and shining brightly which in truth does not reflect reality back home today, but it is my hope and yearning of seeing the return of clear night skies I used to see so often as a child.
